Jannies

When we were young growing up in Heart’s Delight, at Christmas time we use dress up and go around to the houses to see if people would let us in to guess who we were. It was always a lot of fun and almost everyone loved to see us coming around.  after guessing who we were we would uncover our faces and have cake and syrup before moving along to the next house. For me and a lot of my friends Mr. and Mrs. George Foote loved the jannies and were always very friendly to us. Their memory inspired me to paint this scene. Later, someone changed the name to mummers
